Sunday - St. Léger sur Dheune.
Board the barge at St. Léger-sur-Dheune.  A champagne reception welcomes you on board followed by an evening cruise before your first delicious dinner.

Monday - Visit Beaune. Cruise to St. Julien-sur-Dheune.    
Today, tour the famous Côte d'Or, home of Burgundy's finest vineyards; Meursault, Puligny- Montrachet and Pommard, to name but a few. Visit the beautiful and historic town of Beaune, wine capital of Burgundy and home to the stunning hotel-dieu charity hospital, a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Cruise to St. Julien-sur-Dheune, a small country mooring and a quiet place to walk or bicycle.

Tuesday- Cruise to Blanzy. Visit Autun.
Today the boat will cruise to Blanzy.  The canal winds through the scenic Charolais pasture land, home to the famous breed of all white cattle.  Tour the city of Autun, founded by emperor Augustus and known as one of the leading cities of Roman Gaul. Enjoy lunch in the town followed by a visit to the roman amphitheatre, one of the largest in France with a seating capacity of 17,000. Not far is  the impressive gothic  cathedral of  St Lazare surrounded by the old town.

Wednesday - Cruise to Génélard. Visit Cluny.
Today the boat cruises through the lush countryside of rural Burgundy to Génélard. Take a drive to Cluny, a little town still dominated by the remains of its once mighty Benedictine abbey, and offering a spectacular insight into the power and influence of medieval spirituality.

Thursday – Cruise to Paray-Le Monial.  Visit La Clayette.
After a morning cruise to historic Paray le Monial drive through the countryside to La Clayette, to see its château and visit the specialty chocolate factory of M. Bernard Dufoux.  The master himself demonstrates the art of making chocolate, followed by a private tasting. The beautiful chateau de Drée, a short drive away, is a jewel of Burgundian architecture.  You will see many rooms including the kitchen and the King's bedroom.
 
Friday – Visit Paray le Monial. Cruise to Digoin.
Return to Paray le Monial to visit the famous sacred heart basilica, site of pilgrimage since 1873, and enoy a stroll in a town which can claim to be a centre of Christianity.
Afternoon  cruise to Digoin where the barge will moor close to the Pont Canal de Digoin, a canal bridge which spans the Loire.  Farewell gala dinner on board.

Saturday - Le Creusot.
After breakfast disembark the barge for your onward travel arrangements.
